4th Quarter Self-Reflection

In my opinion the purpose of this blogging activity was to help us to be creative writers to topics that interest us. I believe that people could write more things if they are writing about their interests. I think Ms. Rumford chose blogging than traditional writing activities for many reasons. First, for the last few years I was in ASD, I have been doing traditional writings with that you don’t get the chance to choose your own topic to. In my opinion, this is boring because all of the students are writing the same thing. But, blogging gave us the opportunity to choose our own topic that would interest us, and it would be more interesting to write about because you have the knowledge about it. Second, technology is famous nowadays so why not use it. When you do traditional writings, your teachers and peers are the only people that could see this. Whereas for blogging, your writing is posted on the Internet that can be seen by anybody not just your teachers. Also, it wouldn’t be the usual paper type writings. Third, blogging is new to us and we don’t usually do these. I think it helped us to be comfortable to write in a wider audience because it would be your usual L.A. class. More people would see your talent on writing.

Throughout the blogging activity, I have accomplished many things. One thing is my very own topic, desserts. I have learned more things to desserts such as their history and its recipes. For example, when I was doing a blog post about ice cream, I researched about it and I found out its history and how to make it with different flavors. I have accomplished to help people learn more about their favorite desserts. Another thing that I accomplished is my sentence usage. While blogging, we had to be aware about writing our sentences. I learned that while you write sentences such as the simple, compound, and complex sentence, this would lead you to your point because it the sentences would all be connected. For example, when I’m writing about ice cream, I would want to talk about its history, recipe, and my events when I ate ice cream. The sentence usage would help me lead to my point because you would be aware about what you’re writing, and you wouldn’t go on and on and your writing would end up not making any sense. Lastly, I have accomplished to write better online. For example, on the social networking sites such as Facebook, everybody is so comfortable to write whatever they want without thinking about grammar and punctuation. When I was writing my blog, I often made mistakes with grammar because I was used to writing freely with my peers. Then I would change all of that because I would realize that this wouldn’t fit to some of my audience.

There are many key concepts that I have learned while blogging. First, when writing about something, you can’t just keep on saying things you won’t get to the point. There are skills that I learned which helped me avoid this, such as the types of sentences. Simple, Compound, and Complex sentences helps you organize your writing so that you wouldn’t go on and on about what you’re talking about and wouldn’t lead to anything. Second, research helped me accomplish my blogging because for my topic about desserts, I have to research about recipes or the dessert’s history. I learned that when doing research, you couldn’t just go to one site and get all of your information there because you don’t know if it’s real. You have to go to a few sites and compare what each of them are saying then you would know what to write about. Third, organization is helpful in doing blogs. I learned that when your writing something, you can’t keep on talking and talking that would lead to different things then suddenly it wouldn’t be related to what you’re actually talking about. You need to organize your thoughts so it wouldn’t be confusing for your readers and they would enjoy it as well.

The weekly requirements helped me become a better writer. Ms. Rumford assigned us things that we had to do per week such as the vocabulary that helped me expand my vocabulary knowledge and forced me to find words that I usually don’t use. From the vocabulary usage, this helped me learn new words and refrain from using exact same words every time. A requirement that took a long time was the sentence structure. Because, whenever I try to do a sentence, I would go over it again and again if it makes sense. Also, I try to make all types of sentences spread out so they won’t be all the same ones. For example, I’d do the simple sentence and after that a compound or complex sentences, not another simple one. When I try to do this, it takes time because I have to connect each of the sentences. Also, the highlighting sentences was a challenging part because you have to identify each of the sentences and sometimes I’m not sure if I would be highlighting the right one. The embedding was pretty easy because most of my blog posts, I try to put a picture so it would be more interesting to look at, besides reading the whole blog. Sometimes I get confused when putting punctuation such as the comma because I’m not usually sure if I put it on the right place. Whenever Ms. Rumford assigns us word count such as 500-600 words, I always get really annoyed because I don’t know if I can write that long. But once I start it, I actually can write between 500-600 words and I felt better after that. The weekly requirements helped me write my blog because I would know what I’m trying to aim for when writing it.

While blogging, Ms. Rumford taught us different skills that would help us in the future. One of the skills was writing that consisted of the sentence structures, punctuation, and word choice. This skill could benefit me in the future because on other classes, there could be a writing assignment and I could apply this skill to it and I won’t have a hard time. Another skill that I could benefit me in the future is technology. From the technology skills, I knew how to embed media, about the widgets, and the tags. This could benefit me in the future for my job. For example, if I would like to advertise something, I could use the technology skills that I have and blog about it. I could write about facts and important information using the writing skills I learned, also I could embed videos or pictures using the technology skills I gained. All in all, everything that we did during our blogging activities would help me in the future because if I need to use blogs in my job or in college, I would know how to construct my writing with the writing skills I learned and technology would help my blog to be better.

Cheesecake Factory

Cheesecake

Cheesecake

I think that everybody enjoys eating cheesecake. The sweet taste melting in your mouth when you eat it. Well, for the people that love cheesecakes, The Cheesecake Factory is the place for you. The Cheesecake Factory is a restaurant that serves a wide variety of cheesecakes, and it’s found mostly every corner of America. The Cheesecake Factory started as a small cheesecake business in Detroit by Evelyn and Oscar Overtone. They started their business to raise their kids but they then decided to give this up and close down the business. By the early mid 70’s they opened another cheesecake business called The Cheesecake Factory in Los Angeles. Everybody loved their cheesecakes so their business started to expand. This made The Cheesecake Factory an all time favorite place to have a cheesecake dessert. I never knew about The Cheesecake Factory until I went to San Francisco. When my family and I were in San Francisco, we wanted to explore everything there, especially foods. I saw this tall building that has a “The Cheesecake Factory” sign on it. The outside looked very appealing, we were really interested so we went in. As soon as we cam in, the place was packed. The place was filled with people eating and chatting. The waitress led us to our table and handed us the menu. The menu had pictures of foods that were mouth watering. I turned to the desserts page and it was flooded with cheesecake desserts. Everything looked delicious but I ordered the plain original cheesecake. From what I saw before with the place filled with people, I automatically thought that this place might be very popular. The waitress came with our foods. I thought that the cheesecakes would be those little pastries from the bakeries, but I was wrong. The cheesecakes were huge that they occupied half a dinner plate. It looked really delicious, and I was really hungry at that time so I ate really fast. When I was half through eating the whole thing, I got really full. The cheesecake was very delicious but it was really sweet and big that I kind of got tired of eating it. I really enjoyed it though and my experience from eating in The Cheesecake Factory was awesome.

Here is a recipe of the Original Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory:

Crust
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup melted margarine

4 8-ounce pkgs. cream cheese
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 eggs

Topping
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons granulated sugar

Optional Garnish
whipped cream

1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Place a large pan or oven-safe skillet (that the cheesecake pan will fit inside) filled with about 1/2-inch of water into the oven while it preheats. This will be your water bath.

2. Combine 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon into a medium bowl. Mix in 1/3 cup melted margarine. Press the crumb into a 9-inch spring form pan that has been lined on the bottom and side with parchment paper. Use the bottom of a drinking glass to press the crumb mixture flat into the bottom of the pan and about 2/3 the way up the side. Wrap a large piece of foil around the bottom of the pan to keep the cheesecake dry when placed in the water bath in the oven. Put the crust in your freezer until the filling is done.

3. Use an electric mixer to combine the cream cheese with the sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix for a couple minutes or until the ingredients are smooth and creamy. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl and then add them to the cream cheese mixture. Blend the mixture just enough to integrate the eggs.

4. Remove the crust from the freezer and pour the filling into it.

5. Carefully place the cheesecake into the preheated water bath. Bake for 12 minutes at 475 degrees, then turn the oven down to 350 degrees and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top of the cheesecake turns a a light brown or tan color. Remove the cheesecake from the oven to cool.

6. When the cheesecake is cool, combine 1/2 cup sour cream and 2 teaspoons sugar. Spread the sweetened sour cream over the entire top surface of the cheesecake. Cover and chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. To serve, slice the cheesecake into 12 equal portions. Apply a pile of canned whipped cream to the top of each slice and serve.

Triple-Chococlate Cake

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake

The first topic that I thought of when we were going to do another blog was cakes. I never really talked about cakes that much. Since mostly everyone love chocolate, I decided to talk about something that has to do with chocolate cake. There you have it, Triple-Chocolate Cake.

Here’s the recipe:

Cake
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
4 eggs, separated
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons corn syrup
White Chocolate Glaze
1/4 cup white vanilla baking chips
1 teaspoon shortening

Heat oven to 325°F. Grease 9-inch round cake pan. In 2-quart heavy saucepan, melt 1 cup of the chocolate chips and 1/2 cup butter over low heat, stirring constantly; cool for 5 minutes. Stir in flour until smooth. Stir in egg yolks until well blended.

In large bowl, beat egg whites with electric mixer on high speed until foamy. Beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until soft peaks form. Fold chocolate mixture into egg whites. Spread in pan.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean (top will appear dry and cracked). Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around edge of pan to loosen; remove cake from pan to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Place cake on serving plate.

In 1-quart saucepan, heat remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons butter and the corn syrup over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate chips are melted. Spread over top of cake, allowing some to drizzle down side.

In 1-quart saucepan, melt glaze ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly. Drizzle over top of cake.

I don’t get what so famous about chocolate cake. Is it because of the chocolate that once you eat it, it melts slowly in your mouth and leaves the sweat flavor, or the cake with clearly isn’t enjoyable without a little topping? What I enjoy about Chocolate Cakes is that you never really get tired of eating it. you would always it eat and you would always enjoy it no matter what. It’s like a baby going crazy about a candy. Unlike other flavors such as strawberry. I also like strawberry but the flavor is too sweet that once you eat a piece of it, you don’t feel like taking another bite. Another flavor that I like but not as much as chocolate is vanilla. Vanilla is sweet and tasty but it’s too plain for a flavor of a cake. What do you think adds to the flavor of a cake?

I think ingredients such as sugar contributes a lot to the flavor of cakes because of course without it, cakes would be dull dessert. Also, a little bit of salt, I thought that salt makes food salty but they do I add it to desserts which are supposed to be sweet. I think salt makes the flavor of cakes balance so it wouldn’t be too much sweet or flavorless. Would you also enjoy a cake that’s plain without any toppings, glaze, or frosting? Cakes without these are also a dull dessert because these add flavor to the cake and makes it more attractive. Have you ever ate a chocolate cake with only the cake part and not the melting chocolate on top? I wouldn’t enjoy those kinds of cakes because they’re plain ones. So in my opinion, I highly enjoy chocolate cakes because they are not boring too eat and after one bite, you would ask for more.

Poem for dessert

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Some are sweet

And some are bitter

But once you eat a dessert

It make you better.

Some eat it is as a snack

But mostly after dinner.

But never before a race,

Because it will never make you a winner.

There are types of different desserts,

Such as cookies, ice creams, and cake.

But not all of them,

Are hard to bake.

Cookies are scrumptious,

And very tasty.

Not as sweet as a candy,

But still yummy in the tummy.

Ice cream’s cold, tasty, and melts

Under the blazing sun.

But for the summer season,

Ice cream is the one.

Chocolate is the best

Because it matches with all desserts

It can be ice cream, cookies, cake

Or other types of desserts.

Fruits into Desserts

Fruit Salad

Fruit Salad

Fruits are considered are normal everyday snack, but when people get creative they turn them into all time favorite desserts. I’ve always loved eating fruit salad. My mom makes fruit salad every so often, and she mixes different kinds of fruits such as peaches, apples, grapes, pineapples, and cherries. After mixing all the fruits, she would add cream and condensed milk, but she doesn’t add solid sugar. It would only take a few days not even lasting for a week till we finish the fruit salad. Although my mom’s not really much of a cook, she’s creative at different thing especially desserts. Another fruit turned into a perfect dessert is the one and only apple pie. Even though I’m not familiar onto cooking apple pie, I still love eating it. I really like the taste when you bite the soft apple and the taste just burst into your mouth, also the filling in the apple pie makes it taste even better. Different fruits are also in desserts such as ice creams. In my opinion, I don’t think that ice cream companies would use artificial fruits because they want customers to enjoy the natural taste, and they would lose their natural customers if they find out that all along they believed that they’re eating real fruits but they’re actually not. Apple is a fruit turned into dessert by making caramel apples. I’ve never really tasted caramel apples before, but to what I have heard from other people it taste really sweet from the caramel coating. Although I never tasted one, I’ve always imagined the juicy taste of the apple and once you bite it, there’s an extra taste of sweetness from the caramel, and the gooey caramel sticking everywhere in your teeth. Now we know that you don’t have to have a perfect recipe of some sort such as brownies or cakes to have a perfect dessert. You can still have a yummy dessert from ordinary fruits.

Christmas Treats

Even though Christmas is all about family, happiness, and presents, we would never forget the treats it has to offer. Gingerbread man cookies are famous during Christmas. But, they didn’t really started as cookies but as cakes. Gingerbread man cookies began with monks after the soldiers fought with the crusaders in the Middle East, and the soldiers brought back spices such as ginger. Ginger was expensive so high class people can only afford it. Because the monks started experimenting with ginger, they ended up with different recipes that have ginger in it such as gingerbread cakes. It’s really cool how everything has a history to it that you’ve never really known about. I really enjoy eating gingerbread man cookies especially decorating it, and I decorate my cookies with small sugar balls as eyes, green and red icing, or m&ms. Whenever there’s a special occasion, its hard to miss making gingerbread man cookies for most people would love to it people-like cookies. People, mostly by kids, also enjoy Candy canes. Candy canes are not really meant for dessert such as ice cream, but you eat these candies for fun. When it’s Christmas, people give out candy canes with little notes attached to it. There are different types of flavors of candy canes, but I would always love the original taste of mint flavor exploding your mouth. Some people would hang candy canes on Christmas trees for decorations. Because of its colors, candy canes add more design to the Christmas tree. I think apple pie is another Christmas dessert because when we went to a dinner during Christmas holidays, they served apple pie. What I enjoy about apple pies are its soft apples in the inside and the sweet filling with it. Even if the crust is crunchy and probably most people don’t enjoy it, I really love eating it. I would enjoy apple pie the most with whip cream on top. I would enjoy Christmas holidays because you get to eat different treats, and the treats make you happy.

Chocolate Cupcake

Chocolate Cupcake with pink icing an m&m's

Chocolate Cupcake with pink icing an m&m's

Chocolate is probably the most loved dessert in the whole world. Everybody is addicted to chocolate. I would describe chocolate as sweet, luscious, scrumptious, creamy dessert that’s hard to resist, and once you eat it you feel like you’re in a paradise. But chocolate takes you into a whole other level, it just gets better and better with chocolate cupcake. A lot of people enjoy chocolate cupcake; I myself am addicted to chocolate cupcake with chocolaty taste and moist in the inside with the creamy icing on the top. Chocolate cupcake is easy to do so here’s the recipe.

1/2 cup (50 grams) Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1 cup (240 ml) boiling hot water

1 1/3 cups (175 grams) all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees). Lightly butter, or line 16 muffin cups with paper liners. In a small bowl stir until smooth the boiling hot water and the cocoa powder. Let cool to room temperature. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Then in the bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth. Beat in the vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and beat only until incorporated. Then add the cooled cocoa mixture and stir until smooth.

Fill each muffin cup two-thirds full with batter and bake for about 16-20 minutes or until risen, springy to the touch, and a toothpick inserted into a cupcake comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Once the cupcakes have completely cooled, frost with icing. You can either spread the frosting on the cupcakes with a small spatula or if piping, use a large Wilton 1M open star tip to make swirls.

There is no history to chocolate cupcakes but they started from regular cupcakes. The cupcake developed during the 19th century in America. It was innovative for saving time in the kitchen. Food Historians don’t really know yet to how the cupcake got its name. They came up with two theories. Either it was that cakes were originally made in cups, or that the ingredients made with cupcakes are measured by cups. At first, cupcakes were called number cakes for it was easy to remember the ingredients and its measurements to create one. The recipe to make a cupcake before was, one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, four eggs, one cup of milk, and one spoonful of soda. In my opinion, the recipe is not that hard to remember as long you know all the ingredients but the measurement is a piece of cake.

Cupcakes today have a wide range of ingredients, measurements, shapes, and decorations than it was before. Cupcakes were much more suitable than making huge cakes which often get burned. Muffin tins or gem pans were popular during the 20th century so people started cooking cupcakes in them. Cupcakes have become a culture trend in the culinary world. They have spread through dozens of bakeries selling entirely cupcakes.

Before people create basic cupcakes, people today are very creative on making their cupcakes. For examples, people don’t usually make their cupcakes with only plain icing; its usually colored icing with different decorations such as sprinkles or small candies. Also, people are creative into making different types of cupcakes such as chocolate chip cupcake and vanilla cupcake. Cupcakes can be used in different occasions to what might people prefer. It can be for birthdays, weddings, Christmas, special gathering, or can be only for an afternoon snack.

Here are some pictures of yummy looking chocolate cupcakes:

History of Ice Cream

Scoops of Various Ice Cream

Scoops of Various Ice Cream

Every one loves the sweet, cold, scrumptious taste of ice cream melting in our mouths especially in a hot, scorching, sunny day. Imagine you sitting down under the hot sun, boiling your skin, and you decided to go grab an ice cream to cool you down. Once you take a bite of this, cold feeling rush around your body giving you your energy back again. Every time you eat an ice cream, don’t you realize where it really came from, who gave you that taste of goodness.

The History of ice cream began a long time ago, about 3,000 years ago in the country of China. Chinese people invented tons of mesmerizing things such as fireworks, but the tremendous invention that they did was the snow ice cream. Snow ice cream came from the mixture of snow and ice from up the mountains with fruit, wine, and honey. Another story of the history of ice cream began in Rome credited to Emperor Nero of Rome. Emperor Nero sent his slaves up the mountains to bring back snow and ice, while his cooks merge the snow and ice; his slaves brought back nectar, fruit, and honey.

In 1925, Marco Polo came to Italy from China bringing a recipe making snow ice cream better. The recipe called for yak milk mixed into snow to make it creamy. The rich people enjoyed this kind of delicacy with frozen milk. In 1533, a lady from Florence, Italy married a French King, Henry III and became the Queen of France. When she moved to the castle of in France, she brought with her the recipe of frozen milk. Chefs in the castle began to make this tasty treat. One French chef opened a store to sell this treat and became one of the first chefs to append flavor such as strawberry and chocolate to the frozen milk.

In 1776, the first ice cream parlor in America opened in New York City. The president’s wife, Dolly Madison, enjoyed the taste of ice cream so much that she served it in the White House. Several inventions were made to expand the frozen milk better. In 1843, Nancy Johnston invented the hand-cranked ice cream freezer that made ice cream making easier. In 1851, Jacob Fussel opened the first ice cream factory in Baltimore, Maryland on which he served his ice cream on a wagon. In 1899, August Gaulin, originated the homogeniser which helped the texture of the ice cream smooth. He also invented, in 1902, a new ice cream freezer, to help ice cream freeze swiftly. In 1903, another invention was made led by Italo Marchiony, who sold ice cream from a pushcart. He was tired of people rupturing glasses from eating ice cream or walking off with them, so he invented the ice cream cone.

In 1919, multiple ice cream parlors opened in America. Americans demanded more of ice cream that led to the invention of chocolate covered ice cream bar. In 1920, an ice cream sol on a stick called A Good Humor Bar was invented. Cookies N’ Cream was invented in 1983. It was made from real Oreo cookies and became an immediate hit from being one of the best selling ice cream flavors.

People wouldn’t enjoy a tasty ice cream if it weren’t for the Chinese people who were smart to come up with snow ice cream. It started with a simple snow ice cream with fruits but now people are very creative to do these fanatical flavors for us to enjoy.

First Blog-Chocolate Fondue Dessert

Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate Fondue

Everybody loves all kinds of desserts especially chocolate. I would tell you how to make “chocolate fondue”. Doesn’t that name make you drool or go fanatical over chocolates? Who cares if you get plump or your tummy bulges out of your shirt just so you can taste this delectable dessert. Don’t even wait until after dinner to taste this scrumptious, mouth-watering dessert.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup premium cocoa powder (ex:Scharffen Berger), sifte

- 1 1/4 cup water

- 1 1/2 cups sugar

- 1/4 cup corn syrup

- 1/2 cup plus 5 Tbsp heavy cream

- 5 oz 62% Scharffen Berger (premium semi-sweet chocolate), chopped

- Pound cake and fruit (ex. bananas, apples, strawberries, plums), cut into bite sized pieces, also ice cream (different flavors)

First, sift the cocoa into mixing bowl and set aside. Place the water, sugar, and corn syrup into a pot and bring to boil. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes until sugar solution has reduced by about 30%. Pour the cocoa powder a little bit at a time into the solution and blend with a whisk until nice and smooth.

Next, return the chocolate mixture to the stove and continue cooking over medium heat. Add the heavy cream, bring it to a boil and allow to simmer for five minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in your chopped chocolate. Pour it all into a ceramic fondue pot or one appropriate and keep warm until ready to serve.

I tasted my first chocolate fondue when I was in Häagen-Dazs in Dubai. I never knew what the chocolate fondue was so then I tried it. The waitress came with this big white plate. She placed it on top of the table. There was a small round bowl on the middle of the plate with an opening at the bottom of it. At the bottom a candle glowed and made the chocolate in the bowl warm. The plate was divided into three parts. One part had different ice cream flavors in it. There were chocolate, vanillas, strawberry, cookies and cream, shaped into a perfect round ball.  Another part of the plate included fruits; there were apples, bananas, and strawberries. The third portion of the plate included different variations to whatever you want to put like nuts and this type of biscuit. Then the waitress came again and brought this metal sticks that looked like a fork except with two thinner metals protruding from the thinner end of the metal stick. I took the fork and grasped it into my hand. I took a strawberry ice cream and plunged it into the boiling chocolate. I put it into my mouth and the chocolate taste burst on my taste buds. I took a vanilla ice cream, a banana, and a strawberry; I dipped all three in the chocolate and place them into my mouth. Different flavors exploded in my mouth, there was a sweet taste and a little bit of sourness. I took a vanilla ice cream and dipped it in the chocolate then wrapped it with nuts. I placed it into my mouth and started chewing. I could hear the nuts mash between my teeth and taste the sweet flavor of vanilla ice cream. I think chocolate fondue is a really scrumptious dessert that is really hard to resist.

Freedom of Speech

Freedom of speech is the right to speak freely without any limitation or restriction. Freedom of speech can be found in early human rights documents, such as the Declaration of the Rights of Man and citizen. In my opinion people have the right to speak freely to what they truly believe in because if they don’t speak then they wouldn’t be heard in the society. John Stuart Mill made arguments on freedom of speech where it is multi-faceted right that includes not only the right to express or disseminate information and ideas but other aspects which are the right to seek information and ideas, the right to receive information and ideas, and the right to impart information and ideas. (from wikipedia, freedom of speech)

Freedom of speech is the fundamental aspect of the individual’s developing relationship both to the state and the society. It is the developing relationship between the state and society because the government and its leaders would hear the people views and opinions, we can relate to each one through communication, there would be an exchange of ideas, opinions, and sentiments. Freedom of speech to people would be like a child expressing its first sounds, but some people would take advantage of their freedom to speak. They could say bad things to other people or say whatever they want even though this may hurt someone or offend them because they now that their not going to get in trouble since they have the freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is U.S.’s most treasured and fundamental rights probably because since U.S. is a free country they can do whatever they want as long as they don’t do something bad that might put them to jail. The freedom of speech is linked to the concept of democracy because democracy is the equal representation of people then if there’s equal representation of people then there would be equality given to the people, if there is equality then the people would have the right to speak freely.

To me, freedom of speech is whenever a person can say whatever he or she wants without anybody stopping him/her. This is a must for the society because there wouldn’t be a society if people can’t express what they have in mind. I think that every country should have freedom of speech because for example, if one country doesn’t have freedom of speech then the people would move to another country where they could express themselves better.
